Your relationship with money

How’s your relationship with money going? Do you find yourself frequently overspending or thinking “I’ll deal with it later”? Or maybe you are afraid to spend too much and so you’re constricting spending in a way that isn’t helpful to your life or other relationships (that is, assuming you have the cash to spend). We all have beliefs about money, and usually those beliefs are unexamined. They developed at a young age and were forged by years of experience; and if I asked you right not to tell me your core beliefs about money it would probably cause you to stare at me blankly for a moment. When we can bring those beliefs to our consciousness, we can choose to rewrite the narrative of our money beliefs in a way that is helpful to us, our relationships and our financial well-being. Money is not evil, nor is it our saving grace – it is simply money. When we rightfully understand it's current role and the role it can play in our life we can begin to make healthier choices with this resource that can do great good in our lives and in the lives of others. What to do if you think an unhelpful money narrative is guiding your life? Write your story! Review it. Reflect on it. Where can you make changes?
